JaneH@T-Tapp.com

Hello Jane,
I want to let you know how taking T-Tapp classes with you has helped me.  First of all I like taking the classes from you because while doing the stretches you tell me how my positions are incorrect and how I can modify them.  You always keep the class fun and moving at a pace that is comfortable for the students.  I started the classes for muscle toning and aerobic fitness.  Since taking T-Tapp classes once a week for two months and the last two months you have been teaching twice a week  I have been able to release a lot of neck and shoulder muscle pain, firmed my abs, arms, butt, and thighs.  I can do Hoe Downs at a much faster pace now!  I enjoy working out and look forward to going class. The exercise revives me!

Teresa Tapp has designed a wonderful fitness technique.

Sincerely,
Diane S.

Elizabeth's story:

Where to begin…I’m very new to T-Tapping. I have been the doing the Total workout for a whole five and half weeks now, but I have become a “believer”  in T-Tapp in that short time and wonder how or why I never heard of T-Tapp before.

In my initial month of doing T-Tapp I lost five pounds (and I only had ten to lose in total) and one clothing size. I’m not so much caught up in the numbers or statistics of success, but I am so excited because I am wearing jeans that I haven’t fit in since getting married over ten years ago. I didn’t take measurements when I first started doing T-Tapp because I know myself all too well, and I knew if I tied my success to a specific number (measurement in inches) I could easily get discouraged and give up.

A little background on what led me to T-Tapp. I have been a runner for six years. I started running to help me lose my “baby weight” after having my first daughter. I was 28 years old when I had her and 31 years old when I had our second daughter – and what a difference those three years had on my metabolism. In the past six years I trained for and ran three marathons; a 50K trail race; and numerous other shorter races. Only three months ago, I was running at least 5 days/week with long runs averaging 12-15 miles every weekend and I still couldn’t achieve an ounce, much less a whole pound, of weight loss. Over the past six years of my running career, I continued to add mileage, speed, and time spent on running, only to develop oversized calf and thigh muscles, no weight loss, and toneless upper body and arms. What the heck?! I was running, eating healthy, and active but was still not happy with my body.

After T-Tapping for five and a half weeks, my body has changed shape like never before. My leg muscles are becoming smaller, although stronger. My upper body, arms, and especially my core back and abdomen muscles are noticeably stronger and actually look toned to other people now. I haven’t gone running in over a month!

When I started T-Tapp, I was determined that I was going to do everything right and put in 100% effort because I really wanted to find out for myself if it was “bogus” or “legit.” Well, you don’t have to guess what I found. And even though I saw results almost within the first week, I really focused in on the emphasis on form. After all my T-Tapp website reading, discussion forum reading, and video watching I knew that if I want to get the most out of T-Tapp, I needed to be doing it correctly. I would guess that I had about 60-65% of the form and muscle activation correct. So after a quick search and a few emails my mom and I met with a certified T-Tapp trainer, Jane Heinrichs.

After my first training session with Jane, my muscles were already starting to get sore before I went to bed that night. My entire back (upper, lower, along the spine, and outer edges) and abdomen had never been utilized like Jane helped me achieve. My legs and arms weren’t as sore but definitely felt worked out. I loved the technique she used - just touching the muscle I should be activating in a certain exercise - to help my brain figure out where to send the message to contract. Once I felt the pressure of a slight touch it seemed like that specific area sent a message to my brain, and in turn, my brain turned around and sent the message to contract right back to where it came from. I'm guessing I wasn't really using my back and core muscles like I should have been. But now that I could feel them contracting, and feel the soreness, I know what I should be feeling when I am activating them properly. During my workouts, I had been working my arms and legs, more than my core muscles, which is opposite of the way it is supposed to work.

I got so much out of that one and half hours of help and advice from Jane and left the session with a lot to work on, on my own. The feedback is invaluable because I want to get the most I can out of my workouts. With Jane’s expertise, I know I will definitely improve my strength and tone. And when I feel like I have mastered what she told me during our last session, I will be scheduling another. My husband asked what I would like for mothers day and I didn’t even have to think about it – “Another personal training session with Jane!”

Lori's story:

I just wanted to share my T-Tapp success story.  I feel like an evangelist telling people about T-Tapp. I call it my magic pill!

My name is Lori Smith and I live in a small town in northern California.  I have been married for 37 years; have four grown children and four very small grandchildren.  I am 55 and work full time as a correctional officer.  I have exercised for 31 years and have been interested in nutrition all my life.  Notice, I did not say physically fit.  There were periods in my life when I was, but was never able to stay fit and strong. I have done every exercise program from Yoga, which I still do, to martial arts, walking, dance, jump rope, tread mill…well, you get the idea.  I have always struggled with 10 or 15 pounds, able to lose through a strict diet, but never able to keep it off.  I have probably lost hundreds of pounds over the years, just the same ones!  I am sure a lot of women can relate!  I kept telling my husband that there has to be a way to eat and exercise to keep a decent shape and weight and not spend your life doing it and not feel guilty over every bite of food!

About a year and half ago my esthetician told me about T-Tapp.  I was weight lifting, running and walking for exercise.  I know now that I was spending way too much time doing these things and not seeing any progress.  I was not losing weight, seeing any muscle definition, or feeling like I was getting stronger, but I was physically active and did not see the need to add another physical activity.

Nine months ago, my left knee started to bother me, not just bother, but interfere dramatically with my life.  It was very painful to bend, which of course made it difficult to walk.  I started to limp, gave up all physical activity that was not necessary.  I continued to work, but it was very difficult.  At home, I was a couch potato.  I moved like an old woman over night.  I tried everything I could think of to help my knee, natural supplements, ice, hot and cold treatments, and acupuncture.  Nothing helped.  At the end of September, I saw my Dr.  To make a long story short, I needed surgery for a damaged meniscus.

As we all know, the medical system moves slowly sometimes.   In the meantime, I was eating from stress and gaining weight.   I did not have surgery until February.  At Christmas, My daughter, Elizabeth, said something to me that made a light bulb come on for me.  She said, “Mom, you are waiting to get active and loose the weight you gained until your knee heals.  What if it never does?  What are you going to do?”  Good question!!  My knee was so painful at this point that I stopped working.  I started to watch my diet and lost some weight and finally scheduled my surgery.  I decided to give T-Tapp a try.

I spoke with my hairdresser, Debbie, who also does T-Tapp, about which program I needed to order.  Debbie informed me that I could absolutely do T-Tapp with my knee.   She advised me to just call and they could advise me on which program to order.  I actually got a real person!  In this day and age, that is a miracle in itself.  Lauren advised me to get the More program and told me that I could get on Amazon and do a sample of the chair program before I got the DVD.   I ordered about two weeks before my surgery and started doing the chair workout from Amazon.  It felt good to start doing something again after being inactive for so many moths.

I received my DVDs and book the day after my surgery.   I Read the book in two days since I had a little time on my hands.  A few days after surgery, I was doing the T-Tapp chair program again from the DVD.  I got a better idea of the form from the DVD than the sample on Amazon.  Two weeks after surgery, I was doing the instructional More program and have been hooked ever since.  I could even do Hoe Downs without my knee bothering me!  If I walked with KLT, I could do so without pain, which was such a relief after so many months of limping.  After doing a 10 day boot camp, I lost an amazing 18 inches.  Unbelievable!!  I guess I un-kinked my hose!

I told my daughter, Elizabeth, about my progress and she ordered the Total workout and loved the workout and the way the pants fit her after only a few weeks.  We decided that we wanted to get the most out of our workouts and needed to see a T-Tapp trainer.  Elizabeth got in touch with Jane Heinrichs who lives an hour and a half from Elizabeth, and arranged a training session with her.

Jane is an amazing example of overcoming health issues, joint damage and an overall positive “yes you can” attitude.  Her style of just touching a muscle to activate it helps immensely.  I also got a better idea of the isometric push pull of T-Tapp and what I was doing right and wrong in the workout.  I estimate I was doing about 40% right and still had success.  Jane was very knowledgeable and patient and the hour and a half flew by!

I had given my “skinny jeans” (all us women know what those are!) to Elizabeth, just after my knee started bothering me thinking I would not ever be able to fit in them again.  When I went to Davis for the training session, I could fit them again.  After the training session, they were surprisingly loose!  How does an hour and a half of exercise do that?!  They came home with me, as they were too big for Elizabeth.  I have also pulled out a pair of summer Capri’s that I have not been able to fit into for years and they fit perfectly.  Better than when I first got them!

I have lost a total of 15 pounds and 31 inches since the beginning of the year.  My New Year’s resolution was that by January of 2010, I would not have the resolution to get fit ever again.  With T-Tapp, I will fulfill that resolution.  I also feel amazing.  I feel happy, less stressed, more positive, just an overall feeling of well being.  I like the shape of my body for the first time in my life!  I took pictures six weeks into the program and then six weeks later.  Not only do I look less dumpy (the only word I can think of to describe my “before” picture!) and smaller, my posture has improved immensely.  My core muscles and thighs were trained for many months to compensate for my damaged knee and had to be re-trained to function correctly.  I am not where I want to be, physically, but will get to that point.

In the future, I am considering becoming a T-Tapp trainer and sharing this with others in a more informed fashion.  It would be a delight to be able to work at something that is so amazing and help and give back to others!
